About this Event
This meetup is designed for self-taught coders to share, learn, network with others, and more importantly, have fun! In this event, we will discuss some common questions toward to AI industry and the myth about AI engineer.
The event will be held in Q&A format, similar to a talk show. We will invite people like expert programmers from leading tech companies in New Zealand, startup founders and professional recruiters to sit together and discuss about the career options and career planning for becoming a AI Engineer.
Please note, we will run this event on the 11th of August, from 6:15 PM to 8:15 PM. The venue will open from 5:45 PM.
Meeting Schedule:

About our Guests:
Peter Devine, the AI expert at the University of Auckland, mainly researching natural language in the software user feedback domain. As a PhD student, he both trains and evaluates various AI techniques to gain insights into unstructured data.
Simran Singh, the Lead Artificial Intelligence Engineer at HeartLab. He researches and develop deep learning techniques to analyse echocardiograms. Dabbling in methods such as 3D convolution networks, material point prediction, classification, deep regression and semantic segmentation.
Kevin Liu, the Machine Learning Engineer at Spark 64. Currently focusing on solving real world problems working with teams that move fast to seize opportunities. His major research domain is computer vision and natural language processing.
