Course overview
Combination of lectures and case based discussion related to modern colonoscopic practice and therapeutic technique, combined with hands on practical skills and simulation stations
Learning objectives of course:
- To achieve optimal detection of pathology especially polyps/neoplasia during colonoscopy and how to assess suitability for endoscopic resection
- To know the different therapeutic modalities available for polypectomy and when and how to use them
- To recognise and manage immediate and delayed complications of polypectomy
- Use of a polypectomy competency framework to enhance conscious competence of polypectomy and improve the ability to teach safe and effective polypectomy
- To discuss decision making pathways for management of complex polyps
