Program Highlights:
- First Steps Module: Recognize and understand early warning signs of developmental disorders.
- Regional Centers Module: Learn to create effective Individualized Program Plans (IPP).
- IEP Module: Develop successful Individualized Educational Plans (IEP).
- Advocacy Module: Become the best everyday advocate for your child.
Program Purpose:
Elevate awareness among families, particularly in BIPOC communities, about the unique impacts of race, gender, and class on individuals with disabilities. Provide culturally competent education and evidence-based resources to address racial biases in care systems.
For over 15 years, Special Needs Network (SNN), one of California’s leading autism advocacy and social justice 501© non-profit organizations, has worked tirelessly to raise public awareness of developmental disabilities and to advance public policy addressing the social, economic, and structural roots of inequity that drive autism-related disparities for families of color.
