Stephen Sol is a Washington, D.C.-based singer-songwriter whose music fuses classic rock, folk, and indie influences. Backed by a dynamic 7-piece band, Stephen delivers a sound inspired by artists like Mac DeMarco, My Morning Jacket, and The Beatles. With soulful vocals and introspective lyrics, his songs explore themes of love and metaphysical wonder, capturing a timeless rock sound.
Stephen’s musical journey began at age 14, sparked by the influence of his grandfather, "Boots," a devoted fan of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. This foundation grew as he immersed himself in the music of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Steely Dan during his teenage years. Over time, his style evolved, drawing from singer-songwriters like Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and Jack Johnson. Lately, he's drawn inspiration from Zach Bryan’s raw storytelling, especially with a personal connection—his cousin, Read Connolly, plays banjo and pedal steel in Bryan’s band.
In 2024, Stephen headlined two sold-out shows at Galactic Panther and performed at Breaking Sound in December. Hot off a packed show at Union Stage, Stephen is preparing to release his next single "Eternal Peace"—culminating in his debut album, set for release in 2025.
The Wrizzards
Hot off of headlining Howard Theater and Union Stage, the Washington Rizzards (also known as WRIZZARDS) are a Filipino multi-genre musical collective, artist-group, and independent label, consisting of four members: J Matty, Bema Tadey, LEIF, and Tina Carzon. The WRIZZARDS perform as solo individual artists but also perform as a collective at shows such as Sofar Sounds.
When they’re not performing together, they help elevate each other’s sounds by coming to support each other’s shows, performing as background vocalists or instrumentalists, being behind the scenes, and helping each other musically.
They had their first debut show at Songbyrd DC in July 2023, and have been featured in popular media outlets such as the Wish Bus, Washington Post, Washington City Paper, Billboard PH, DC News Now/DCW50, Beat This PH, and EARMILK. They have also opened for well-known Filipino artists such as Billy Crawford, Kris Lawrence, Jay R, Silent Sanctuary, Ben&Ben, Ice Seguerra, Moira Dela Torre, and HappySlip.
