Join us for a night of heartfelt folk rock with Stephen Evans!After years of performing solo and writing music, Stephen formed the band, True Grits in 2014 with friends Brian Shoemaker (bass), Sam Hess (drums), and Woodstock (mandolin). Since then, they’ve built a strong reputation in Western North Carolina for their passionate songwriting, creative sound, and memorable live shows.
With albums like Something to Bleed, Under the Bridge, and most recently Buzz of Bees (2022), the band blends vivid storytelling, darkness, and hopeful optimism into an evocative folk rock style. Singles like “Ghost Among the Trees,” “Winning the Day,” and “Estefania” are already receiving local and national airplay.
