Parker will take a powerful stand against domestic violence this fall with the first-ever Step Up. Speak Out. 5K – Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Run hosted by the nonprofit Bad Moms of Parker. The event will be held on Sunday October 5 2025 from 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Tallman Meadow Park in Parker Colorado.With the support of title sponsor OCC – Orthopedic Centers of Colorado this inaugural community fun run will bring residents families and advocates together to walk run and stand in solidarity with survivors. This is the first ever 5k of its type in Parker Colorado.

Every step taken is a step toward raising awareness providing resources and reminding survivors that Parker is a community that cares.
“Domestic violence affects families across every community including ours. This event is about raising voices breaking silence and showing survivors that they are not alone” said Selina Espinoza Seargeant vice president and event organizer with Bad Moms of Parker Nonprofit.
Domestic violence is one of the most underreported crimes yet it impacts 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men during their lifetimes. By bringing awareness to the issue the Step Up. Speak Out. 5K aims not only to raise funds for local moms in crisis but also to spark crucial conversations that help reduce stigma and connect survivors to the resources they need.
“On behalf of the Town of Parker I want to thank the Bad Moms of Parker for their leadership in organizing this domestic violence awareness event” said Mayor Joshua Rivero. “Their dedication to this cause brings our community together in a powerful way and helps shine a much-needed light on an issue that affects far too many.”
As the first event of its type Rivero will be a featured speaker at the Step Up. Speak Out. 5k to help bring awareness and support to the issue. All donations benefit Bad Moms of Parker Nonprofit which provides critical support for local moms and families in distress through financial assistance community programs and direct resources.
“By coming together as a community we are sending a clear message: domestic violence has no place in Parker” added Espinoza Seargeant.
