Learn how to build your website using Squarespace and finish the workshop with your Home or Coming Soon page nearly complete.A website is one of the best ways for people to find out about your business; your brand, what services or products you offer, how to contact you, how to give you money etc.
There are some great (and not so great) template-based build-your-own programs available, and after a LOT of research, we think that Squarespace is the best option for most new businesses. This is because Squarespace is:

• Has everything built-in, such as SEO coding, hosting and eCommerce
• Is a low cost option, and incredible value for the quality that it delivers
This course will short-cut the learning process for how to build a website in Squarespace, saving you HOURS of trial-and-error and trawling through YouTube. Trust us, your hair and nerves will thank you!
In this all-day workshop, we will go through how Squarespace works and will put together a simple Home / Coming Soon page so that you’re almost ready to go live by the end of the day. Here is what we’ll go through:
• Some basics about website building, know your footer from your favicon
• How to add and delete pages
• How to easily edit pages and move things around
• How to change the content on each page, (including adding images and text)
• Designing a simple Home or Coming Soon page as a starting point for your website so that you can get something live asap
• Adding hyperlinks to images, buttons and text
• Connecting up your social media accounts
• Connecting up your domain name (we recommend GoDaddy if you don’t already have one)
• Adding your brand font, colours and styling to your site
• Checking mobile compatibility
• Connecting your site to Google
Please note:
-You will need to bring your laptop to this session - you will NOT be able to build your website using a tablet or mobile.
-In order to take part in this workshop you will need to be comfortable with how to drag-and-drop, upload files and use internet browsers. If your IT knowledge is very basic, this course will be too advanced for you.
-We strongly suggest that you attend this workshop in person if at all possible as we won’t be able to answer questions such as ‘what am I doing wrong here?’ on Zoom.
-For the benefit of the entire group, latecomers will no longer be admitted as it is too disruptive to the flow of the course, and isn’t fair on those who are on time.
