Join us for a special evening at The Valentine as we celebrate the closing week of Turning Points: Richmond in the 1890s, an exhibit that explores the transformative decade thirty years after the Civil War. Discover how a new generation navigated tensions in Richmond’s segregated institutions and the lasting impact on the city we know today.
What to Expect:
1890s-Themed Drinks: Sip on historic cocktail recipes crafted specially for the evening.
Crafts and Activities: Create period-inspired crafts to take home.
Curator-Led Tour: Enjoy an exclusive guided walkthrough of Turning Points: Richmond in the 1890s.
Light Snacks: Mingle and enjoy refreshments that transport you to another era.
The Valentine, Richmond’s only museum dedicated to preserving and interpreting the region’s history and culture, has been inspiring visitors for 125 years. Located in the heart of historic downtown, it’s the perfect setting for a night of discovery, joy, and wonder.
A Note for First-Time Attendees:
This event may not be the best choice for your first Trying to Adult RVA experience. Since it’s a public event, it may be challenging to locate our group or a clear meeting spot within the museum. We are not affiliated with the museum but are supporting them for this event!
**This is a members only event** Memberships start at $5/month and can be cancelled or paused at any time! We would love for you to join us.
