
About this Event
FREE! Join us at the Pasadena City College Mirror Pools for a morning of hands-on fun with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for Middle School Girls! STEM Savvy prepares you to be a scientist, engineer, math or technology expert. Activities include:
• Aerospace • Astronomy and Telescopes • Creative Chemistry • DNA exporation • Palentology • Automotive Technology • Computer Science and much more.
This FREE EVENT is for 6th-8th Grade Girls. Girls will be chaperoned throughout the event.
Check-in starts at 8:15 am and the event ends at 12 noon. We will begin promptly at 9 am with groups proceeding to their workshops and activities. Girls will be accompanied by chaperones throughout the morning. Masking is strongly encouraged for indoor workshops.

FAQs
What time does my student need to be at PCC?
Check-in begins at 8:15 am on the Galloway Plaza which is opposite the South entrance to the PCC Library. Students will be assigned to groups with chaperones and guides. The event is a full morning of scheduled activities. Students are expected to be checked in to start their activities with their assigned group by 9 am and to stay until the end at noon. Parents must pick up their students promptly at noon.
Where do I my drop-off my student or park for the event?
Parking for families attending STEM Savvy is available for free in PCC Parking Lot 5, entered on S. Bonnie Ave.
For student drop-off, enter Lot 7 Shuttle drop off area entered on S. Bonnie Ave. just South of Colorado Blvd. and drive through to the drop-off area. Volunteers will be there to accompany your student to the check-in area.

I'm taking public transportation. Where are the best stops to easily get to the event?
The event is taking place in the Northeast area of the PCC Campus. The closest bus stops to the event location are on Colorado Blvd. and S. Bonnie Ave.(Metro Bus 686), and S. Bonnie Ave. south of Colorado Blvd. (Pasadena Transit 60 & 80). Pasadena Transit routes 60 and 10 serve the campus. Metro Bus lines 180, 187, 267 and 686 serve the campus and Metro Rail A line Allen Station is connected to the campus via Metro Bus 686 (3 stops).
Will my student be chaperoned at all times during the conference?
Adult chaperones will be with every group of students and will guide them to and from activities.
Will food be served as part of the conference?
Snack bars and water will be provided to students during the activities. We encourage everyone to bring their own refillable bottle of water to keep STEM Savvy green!
