As a Museum, we strive to champion, support and enthuse the younger generation in their pursuit of and engagement with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) subjects. The National Museum of Computing's STEM Bytes Festivals are an opportunity to experience a 'byte'-sized taste of a selection of major STEM topics, including coding, robotics, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
The Museum is bursting with exhilarating new technology, ready for families to immerse themselves in fun and creative educational activities designed to unlock imaginations, inspire and entertain. From Raspberry Pi, Microsoft Makecode and BBC Micro:Bit to Minecraft:Education, our drop-in interactive STEAM activities will transform the way you learn, create and invent, encompassing coding, science, music and the arts. We combine this with captivating computer science experiences which forge a route into real-world computer programming, taking advantage of technology from companies leading the field such as Sphero, the number one STEAM-based learning solutions provider worldwide.
All STEM Bytes Festival sessions are overseen by our specially trained STEM Ambassadors and supported by our experienced and knowledgeable Museum Trainees/Volunteers, available to guide and mentor young people through the fascinating activities on offer. Please note, children attending our STEM Bytes Festival must be accompanied by an adult.

About the Museum:
The National Museum of Computing is home to the world’s largest collection of working historic computers, bringing to life the pioneering evolution of Computing. Your STEM Bytes Festival ticket includes full admission to the Museum, giving you the opportunity to explore the history of Computing and Technology and discover real artefacts from the Museum’s collection. You will witness many of our iconic machines in operation, accompanied by our fantastic team of friendly and knowledgeable Museum Guides will be on hand to answer your questions.
