About the Competition: This competition is designed for students aged 5 to 15, divided into three age groups (5-8, 9-12, and 13-15). Over the course of 4 weeks, students will have the chance to build and program their own LEGO Prime robot. Each team will work on their robot for 3 hours every Saturday at our STEM Birds Docklands location, starting from November 9. The final competition and robot presentation will take place on December 7th, 2024.

Key Challenges:
• Speed Build Challenge (Ages 5-8) : Create a Moving/Sensing Robotic Animal!
Challenge Description:
In this challenge, your team will design and build a unique robotic animal using the SPIKE™ Prime kit, and it will need to move, sense, or make sounds. Whether you’re inspired by an insect, bird, or mammal, your robotic animal should be able to show off these features!
• Obstacle Course Navigation (Ages 9-12) : Guide Your Robot through a Tricky Path!
Challenge Description:
In this thrilling challenge, you and your team will design, build, and program a SPIKE™ Prime robot capable of navigating an obstacle course! Your robot must avoid barriers, follow a set path, and successfully make it to the end of the course without getting stuck or veering off track. The challenge will test your design, programming skills, and your robot’s ability to respond to the environment. Can your robot make it through the twists and turns of the obstacle course?
• Robot Rescue Mission (Ages 13-15) :
• Challenge Description : In the Robot Rescue Mission Challenge, teams will build and program a SPIKE™ Prime robot that is capable of rescuing a "stranded object" (such as a LEGO figure) from a dangerous zone using advanced sensors and programming. The robot will need to navigate through a complex terrain, avoid obstacles, and successfully retrieve the stranded object, bringing it back to safety.
Each student will work in a team of 3-4 students to complete their project. Don't worry if you're registering individually – we’ll group you with other participants!
