The SteinbergHR Book Club aims to foster a love of reading, encourage intellectual discussions, and build a sense of community.
About this Event

Attendees will come together to discuss a pre-selected book, share insights, and enjoy engaging conversations. The group size will be a maximum of 15 people.

Duration: Each session will last 2 hours.

Location: Meetings will be held in person. The session will be in Hingham MA in the shipyard at Hollywood Agency!

About the Author

Rita Balian Allen is the president of Rita B. Allen Associates, an international career management firm specializing in executive coaching, leadership development, management training and career development. She is a lecturer at Northeastern University, a sought-after speaker and presenter, the author of numerous articles, blogs and the book, "Personal Branding and Marketing Yourself: The Three Ps Marketing Technique as a Guide to Career Empowerment". Her mission is to help empower individuals to take charge of their careers and organizations to maximize their talent potential. She is a regular contributor for Chief Learning Officer, Association for Talent Development, Huffington Post and a variety of other publications. Rita was voted one of the top ten executive coaches by the Boston Women's Business Journal.

Rita brings much human resources experience to her practice and has worked with leaders across all industries and professions. Previously, she held roles at Gatti & Associates, C.R. Bard, Inc., BTU International, and Unitrode Corporation. She holds an MS in Leadership and a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University; is an Advanced Certified Personal and Executive Coach through the College of Executive Coaching and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation. Rita is certified in a variety of assessment tools.

Rita has served in numerous board roles including past president of The Boston Club, board member of More Than Words and past president of the Association of Career Professionals International - New England. She currently serves as an active member of the Association for Talent Development and the International Coaching Federation. In addition, she was appointed and currently serves as a member of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court as well as Seeding Labs.

Rita is fluent in Armenian, loves to cook, travel, read, do yoga and listen to all kinds of music. Her greatest pleasure is spending time with her family!


MEETING AGENDA OUTLINE:

  • Welcome and Introductions (10 minutes)
  • Discussion of the Book (60-80 minutes)
  • Overview of the Next Book (15 minutes)
  • Closing Remarks (10 minutes)

COMMUNICATION:

  • Monthly emails and/or facebook posts will provide updates, discussion questions, and book reviews.
  • An online forum face book group page will be established for ongoing discussions and interactions between meetings.

REFRESHMENTS:

  • Potluck style of light snacks and beverages.

RESOURCES:

  • A reading guide and discussion questions will be distributed one month before each meeting.
  • Relevant resources, such as author interviews and related articles, will be shared to enhance the reading experience.

SteinbergHR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead each meeting to ensure structured and engaging discussions.
  • Handle logistics, book selection process, and communication with members.

PARTICIPATION:

  • Members are encouraged to actively participate in discussions and share their perspectives.
  • Respectful dialogue and diverse viewpoints are valued to enrich the conversation.
