Das Stefan Schöler Trio bietet ein intensives Konzerterlebnis voller Energie, Spielfreude und lyrischer Tiefe. Die drei Musiker verbinden Virtuosität mit feinem Zusammenspiel und schaffen Musik, die atmet, überrascht und berührt – offen für spontane Ideen und lebendige Interaktion.
Bandleader und Pianist Stefan Schöler (Kleve, Niederrhein) hat nach klassischer Ausbildung und Studien in den Niederlanden und Schweden einen unverwechselbaren persönlichen Stil entwickelt. Das Trio spielt zeitgenössischen Modern Jazz: traditionsbewusst, eigenständig und lyrisch – mit unmittelbarer Nähe zum Publikum. Gemeinsam mit Lukas Keller (Köln) am Kontrabass, dessen melodisches Spiel den Bass weit über die reine Begleitung hinausträgt, und Simon Bräumer (Köln), dessen sensibles, nuancenreiches Schlagzeugspiel dem Trio Tiefe und Weite verleiht, entsteht eine Musik, die zugleich kammermusikalisch fein und kraftvoll pulsierend ist.
Ob kantiger Bebop, quirliger Modern Swing, lyrische Balladen oder freie Improvisationen – das Trio bewegt sich spielerisch zwischen Stilen und bleibt dabei offen für neue Wege. Auf dem Programm stehen neue Kompositionen wie Ronny und Francesko, Bob Chigarillo oder Romanze vom Wald, ergänzt durch ausgewählte Jazz-Standards.

Nach Auftritten bei Festivals wie Viersen, Moers, Tübingen und Kopenhagen sowie der Veröffentlichung des Albums Folklore(2024, DoubleMoon Records) arbeitet die Band derzeit am nächsten Release für 2026, das Album Psalmen.

Bandleader and pianist Stefan Schöler (Kleve, Lower Rhine) developed his distinctive personal style after classical training and studies in the Netherlands and Sweden. The trio plays contemporary modern jazz: tradition-conscious, independent, and lyrical—with immediate proximity to the audience. Together with Lukas Keller (Cologne) on double bass, whose melodic playing carries the bass far beyond mere accompaniment, and Simon Bräumer (Cologne), whose sensitive, nuanced drumming lends the trio depth and breadth, the result is music that is both chamber-like in its finesse and powerfully pulsating.
Whether edgy bebop, lively modern swing, lyrical ballads, or free improvisations, the trio moves playfully between styles while remaining open to new paths. The program includes new compositions such as Ronny and Francesko, Bob Chigarillo, and Romanze vom Wald, complemented by selected jazz standards.
