The Community Arts Center of Cambria County (CACCC) is proud to present its first exhibition of 2026 hosted in the Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center gallery, Steel Mill Industrial Art & ARTifacts. In this collection of artworks, Joseph Hensel presents industrial artifact assemblages representing Johnstown’s unique industrial heritage. Joseph Hensel has spent decades salvaging old patterns, parts, tools and machinery from local steel mills, coal mines, power plants, and industrial facilities that he called on. He turns these items into art – tables, lights, clocks, designs to hang on walls – all evoking images of the past and paying tribute to those industries. He also creates pieces from documents obtained from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and U.S. Steel. All the pieces celebrate the accomplishments of Americans by preserving the tangible remnants of the great industrial past, and making them available for the future.
For the third year in a row, sponsoring the dynamic artists of our region and state, the Barbara & Elmer Laslo Cultural Heritage Sponsor will provide a special and unique community engagement experience with a Wine & Cheese Opening Reception for each exhibiting artist of 2026. This PWYD “pay what you decide” Wine & Cheese Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. A video tour of the artwork will be available at the Community Arts Center’s YouTube & Facebook pages (@cacccarts) after the start of the exhibit!
Steel Mill Industrial Art & ARTifacts will be on display from Saturday, January 10, 2026 – Friday, February 27, 2026. The public is welcome to visit the Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center gallery, Monday – Friday 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. and Saturday 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. CACCC is closed on Sundays.
