“Steel Magnolias” is the second show lighting up the stage in June. This touching dramedy is filled with colorful women, hilarious repartee, verbal collision and big hair! The stage production inspired the now iconic 1989 film starring Dolly Parton, Sally Field and Julia Roberts. The story follows complex Southern women, described by the playwright as “delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel,” as they navigate good times and bad times together at Truvy’s beauty salon. Robert Harling’s beloved story will move and entertain audiences for five performances June 27 - 30 in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre in the Canady Creative Arts Center on West Virginia University’s Evansdale Campus in Morgantown.
Order online or by calling 304-293-TKTS. General public tickets are $30, senior citizens are $20, children are $15 and groups (10 or more) are $15.
The theatre offers ADA accessibility and an ASL performance and West Virginia Public Theatre will work with individuals with accessibility questions.
