Let’s go for a lengthy yet easy walk overlooking the valley! We'll be venturing down the Steamboat Canal trail; an hour or so in, and then turn around and head back. We'll be doing about 6 miles total, on a mostly flat gravel path.
The views from the trail are very nice.

DIRECTIONS:
To get to the trailhead, you'll need to find your way to Mayberry Drive in west Reno. Whether you are heading west, coming from McCarran or East, coming from 4th Street, you'll turn south on Plateau Road. This winds uphill for a ways, with only a few side streets leading off, until you reach Woodchuck Circle where you will turn right.
Taking this right, you'll find a small parking area - and depending on the time of day and day of the week, a few cars already lined up there.
We'll meet at the trailhead found shortly after you turn on Woodchuck Circle and get started from there.
There will likely be some muddy areas so plan on getting a little dirty.
