STEAM-tastic: Haunted Mansion (for all ages)

Get into the spirit of the season with a STEAM-powered haunted house build! Design and construct your own cardboard mansion, then transform it into a spooky architectural scene with a moon-lit sky, creepy cobwebs, flapping bats, and eerie textures.

This fall-themed, hands-on project blends art, engineering, and storytelling, encouraging participants to explore 3D construction, light and shadow, and thematic scene creation. Learn about structural design, textural contrast, and how to bring a haunted world to life using mixed media and recycled materials.

This family-friendly workshop is suitable for all ages—including children under 12. All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own spooky stickers, textured papers, or embellishments!

– Come join us at Del Ray Artisans for interactive classes about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), taught by professionals from each field! Geared toward youth, each lesson has a short talk or demonstration and a hands-on craft project. Del Ray Artisans’ STEAM-tastic workshops are made possible with support from the City of Alexandria through the FY2026 Annual Arts Program Grant.

• If a workshop does not reach the minimum number of students by the registration deadline, it will be cancelled. If you are already registered for a workshop that is cancelled, your whole registration amount will be refunded.
• If you request to withdraw from a workshop 72 hours or more before the day of the workshop, Del Ray Artisans will refund the Workshop Fee and any Supply Fee minus a 15% processing fee.
• No refunds will be provided for cancellations less than 72 hours before the day of the workshop.
