STEAM-tastic: Cardboard Creatures (All Ages)

Explore your creativity through a hands-on STEAM activity: build and assemble a 3D cardboard collage of your favorite animal—such as a horse, unicorn, panda, raccoon, fox, alligator, and more! Learn about spatial reasoning, artistic engineering, and sustainable design while using recycled materials.

All supplies are provided, but you're encouraged to bring flat, reusable materials from home to add a personal touch to your eco-friendly creation.

This activity combines art, design, and basic construction skills in a fun, family-friendly environment. Geared towards youth, but all ages and experience levels are welcome—including children under 12!

– Come join us at Del Ray Artisans for interactive classes about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), taught by professionals from each field! Geared toward youth, each lesson has a short talk or demonstration and a hands-on craft project. Del Ray Artisans’ STEAM-tastic workshops are made possible with support from the City of Alexandria through the FY2026 Annual Arts Program Grant.

Instructor: Morgan Parr. Class size: up to 15 participants. Register by November 4.

Refund Policy

• If a workshop does not reach the minimum number of students within 3 days of the workshop, it may be cancelled at the instructor’s discretion. If you are already registered (and have paid) for a workshop that is cancelled, your whole registration amount will be refunded.
• If you request to withdraw from a workshop 72 hours or more before the day of the workshop, Del Ray Artisans will refund the Workshop Fee and any Supply Fee minus a 15% processing fee.
• No refunds will be provided for cancellations less than 72 hours before the day of the workshop.
