Can we mimic the extreme resilience of human tissues? Can we grow alternatives to traditional plastics? Can we engineer a bio-inspired future? Join us at the MIT Museum for an engineering design challenge! Take inspiration from the museum galleries and MIT researchers while learning new skills through hands-on activities in our education suite. Explore the mechanical properties of biomaterials. Make and test hydrogels to solve a problem of your choice. Finish the day with a showcase and a chance to show off what you have created. This program is part of our February School Vacation Week.
This program is for youth ages 12-15 (entering 7th-9th grade) with limited spots available. Registration required.
