About this Event
It’s normal to find GCSEs stressful, especially when you spend most of your day being reminded about how important they are, how they impact your future, and constantly being asked to give your ‘best’. So those people saying ‘Oh, but I don’t even care about my exams…’: that ‘shut down’ is a way of them trying to deal with their overwhelm too.
The good news is that there are proven ways to manage the pressure.
In this session, a specialist therapist will guide you through practical mindfulness and relaxation techniques designed to calm your mind and body. You’ll learn how to regulate your nervous system, handle exam stress, and use simple strategies to stay focused and positive: skills that support not just exams, but your wellbeing beyond the classroom too.
Suitable for young people, aged 14-16, studying for their GCSE exams at school or at home.
Do you have any needs you think we should know about, and are there ways we can make the session more inclusive for you? Examples might be enlarging the text on handouts/ printing it on a different colour paper; providing movement breaks; a visual timetable of activities. This is your session in your library, so we want to make sure it works for you. Email [email protected] to let us know.
