This month we have two special community art events that look at how light shapes our environment at the Ynot Lot: "We're Here," by artist April Danielle Lewis in partnership with Signal Station North, and "The Baltimore Underline", (pictured above) an upcoming black light mural installation along North Ave from our friends at Made You Look + MICA's Social Design Center. Ready to celebrate art and light in the city for the end of summer?
THE BALTIMORE UNDERLINE:
The Baltimore Underline is an exploration of how lights can enhance the feeling of safety for vulnerable road users. In collaboration with Central Baltimore Partnership, Station North Arts District, and Formstone Castle, murals and UV lighting will reimagine the I-83 underpass on North Avenue. Come by to learn more about the project and how to get involved, including a newly released RFQ!
"WE'RE HERE"
Join artist April Danielle Lewis and the Neighborhood Design Center plus the Dynasty Marching Unit for a visibility walk & party! Accompanied by the Dynasty Marching Unit, we'll leave from Ynot Lot around 7:30pm to march down North Avenue wearing hand-made reflective shirts shining into the night. We'll return to the Ynot Lot for live music and food! Register for this special event here.
As always, stop by the Ynot Lot earlier in the evening at 4 W. North Ave to grab your map and dance to DJ T. Rexx (Theo George) before you make your stops.
