The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs and the Collier County Board of County Commissioners invite you to attend a State Veterans’ Nursing Home Property Dedication Ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Golden Gate Golf Course property. Following the ceremony, a reception with community veterans will take place at VFW Post 7721 at 800 Neffs Way (near the intersection of Collier Boulevard and Pine Ridge Road).Collier County is dedicating 23.59 acres of the Golden Gate Golf Course property along Collier Boulevard to provide skilled nursing services to veterans and workday respite services to their caregivers. The facility will also provide veterans with a wellness center, outpatient therapy services, and other veteran resources.
This ceremony will feature remarks by the Executive Director of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Major General (ret.) James “Hammer” Hartsell and the Chairman of the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, Burt Saunders, featuring updated renderings of the long-term care campus.
