About this Event
State of the Black Child-DC (Ward 8 Community Town Hall)
The State of the Black Child – District of Columbia initiative is committed to assessing and improving the well-being of Black children in the nation’s capital. The mission is to address key areas of impact for Black children across the District: Health, Education, Economic Wellness, Digital Safety, Community Safety, Representation and Identity, Resilience and Recovery, Fairness and Equity, Environment, and Housing. Through data-driven analysis, community engagement, and partnerships with stakeholders, the initiative is designed to identify disparities and advocate for meaningful change to ensure every Black child in D.C. has the opportunity to thrive.
This town hall is part of a series aimed at raising awareness and fostering solutions across the city. The discussion will focus on a snapshot of three critical areas: Education, Health & Nutrition, and Economic Wellness—all essential to the well-being and future success of Black children in Ward 8 and beyond.
