About this Event

Register now to be a part of this national conference which brings together journalists, workers across the media landscape, policymakers and community voices to shape the future of public interest journalism in Wales.

Inspired by the Of and For Wales report, this event moves beyond talk and into action. Together, we’ll confront the biggest challenges facing our media landscape and work collectively to shape a national strategy that puts workers, communities, and public value first.

Building on the work of the Public Interest Journalism Working Group, the conference will spotlight the importance of a diverse and resilient media workforce, champion local media as essential community assets, and close the gap between policy and practice.

Organised by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and open to members and non-members alike, register now to connect with workers across the media sector and engage directly with decision-makers. From newspapers to magazines, broadcasting to books- all across our Welsh media sector are welcome to register (including students).

To limit last minute dropouts, we are asking for a £10 refundable deposit to secure your place at the conference. If you are a student and/or unable to afford this deposit, please promptly email where we will be able to register you without requiring payment.

Simultaneous Welsh translation will be available throughout the event. This project has received support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.

Registration with Tea and coffee from 9:00 - 09:45hrs
