About Amphilochios
Documentary short that explores the life and spiritual legacy of a beloved twentieth-century saint from the Greek island of Patmos. Filmed over the course of the first celebration of his April feast day in 2019, locals and pilgrims to the island share their remembrances of the saint. St. Amphilochios (1889-1970) was a tireless spiritual father, missionary, and founder of orphanages and monasteries. Run time is 30 minutes. Greek with English subtitles.
About Sacred Alaska
The documentary will explore the stories and lives of some of the first Russian monks who came from the island monasteries in Valaam, Russia, across Siberia and the treacherous Bering Sea, to the Alaskan islands and mainland. Featuring Father Herman and Bishop Innocent, the film will show how these first missionaries had the central goal of “sanctifying the land” by spreading the Gospel, which they accomplished through their actions and their love of the Native Alaskans.
