About this Event
For everyone who has ever watched Star Wars and yearned to battle with a lightsaber or explore using the Force, this one’s for you.
In this safety based camp, trained Chicago actors and stage combatants will teach 10-14 year olds some basics of Stage Combat, the art of making a fight look dangerous while keeping everyone involved safe. Students can expect to learn how to attack and defend with a lightsaber, how to control the force to their advantage, and practice communication and consent to tell a story through stage combat. They will even come up with their own choreographed fight scenes for an exhibition at the end of the week!
Counterfeit Combat’s camp counselors foster a compassionate learning environment, where students are encouraged to try new things and support each other as they grow in confidence and skill.
The best part? The kids get to create and take home their own custom Lightsaber!
This is the first step to becoming a Jedi Master. Are you ready, young Padawan?
Ages: 10-14
