Join us after hours for free outdoor stargazing (weather permitting) and an unforgettable lineup of Planetarium and Laser shows. Whether you’re here to explore the constellations or rock out to a sky-synced soundtrack, there’s something for everyone.CNU Gravitational Wave Demos
The CNU Gravitational Waves research group will join us for hands-on science demos in the WEC lobby (where the planetarium is located) from 5 to 8:30pm, and will present a gravitational waves science show in Classrooms 3&4 at 6pm. Both are FREE and open to all!
Stargazing
As the sky darkens, our astronomy team will guide you through Virginia’s night sky. Look for planets, star clusters, and seasonal constellations from our observation areas.
Telescopes: Abbitt Observatory or Conservation Garden, depending on the weather forecast.
Observing is free and open to all event attendees.

6:00 pm – Virginia Skies (planetarium program): A live guided tour of the current evening sky with a staff astronomer.
7:00 pm – Laser Hypnotica: A mixed music show featuring techno music
8:30 pm – Laser Rock: A mix of classic rock music
10:00 pm – Pink Floyd’s The Wall: Selections from the Pink Floyd double album.
