All the way from a small town in Mississippi called Aberdeen, announcing the three siblings known as the Staples Jr. Singers! ? Coming of age in the American South, the group's music was influenced by the Civil Rights movement and the ensuing backlash after desegregation. With messages of community and social justice, their show is set to be historical, moving, and inspirational. Admired by the likes of Four Tet and The Avalanches, they’ve started making new music together for the first time in 50 years. We can’t wait to hear what’s in store. Their Guinness Cork Jazz Festival show is supported by none other than rising star Toshin. Nigeria born but grew up in Dundalk, Toshin has performed at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, and All Together Now. Having released her debut album in November, we’re thrilled to welcome her to Cork this October. ?
