Fredericton native Stanton Friedman (1934-2019) was a noted nuclear physicist who taught at UNB and well-known Ufologist and author. He was a leading authority on unidentified flying objects, alien abductions and the 1947 Roswell incident in New Mexico, considered by many to be the definitive UFO event. Stanton explained that his belief in extraterrestrials was based on his research into data about UFO events he found buried in American government documents.Major (Retired) Harold A. Skaarup served with the Canadian Forces as an Army Intelligence Officer, retiring in August 2011. He earned his Fine Arts degree through NSCAD in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and his Master's degree in War Studies through the Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario. He spends much of his time researching and writing military history. He currently serves as a volunteer with museums in New Brunswick.
