Lapis Lazuli, the latest exhibition by French-Australian artist Stanislas Piechaczek, weaves together stories, memories, and emotions much like the slow, layered formation of the precious blue stone from which it takes its name.

Inspired by the deep ultramarine pigment historically derived from lapis lazuli, Piechaczek creates vast hand-painted canvases where figures and forms shift and intertwine. Each layer of paint echoes the passage of time, with familiar yet elusive silhouettes emerging like fragments of collective memory. His bold ultramarine and aquamarine tones radiate energy and movement, drawing viewers into a world where past and present merge.

This marks Piechaczek’s third exhibition with Studio Gallery, following two highly successful shows that built on his already well-established reputation as a celebrated and widely collected artist. Born in Issoudun, France, and now based in Queensland, Piechaczek’s experiences across continents have shaped his poetic approach to painting. In Lapis Lazuli, he uses colour and texture as a language to tell stories -personal and universal -inviting audiences to reflect on the fluid nature of memory and identity.
