Cost: $100 (includes all materials, firing, and refreshments)
Create your own medium-sized fused glass Christmas tree, a vibrant one-of-a-kind work of art that glows with color and light!
Under my guidance you’ll explore the world of glass fusing while designing a tree like those shown in the photos — layered with shimmering colors, patterns, and intricate details.
Each participant will:
• Learn glass cutting and shaping techniques (scoring, breaking, and grinding).
• Work with transparent, opaque, and iridescent specialty glass, including dichroic glass, murrini and glass frit.
• Arrange and adhere your design on a clear glass base to build texture and visual depth.
• Gain insight into how glass responds to heat — how it melts, fuses, and flows during firing.
After class, I will transport your finished layout to my home studio in Easton, Maryland (off Oxford Road), where it will be kiln-fired at approx. 1400 °F, fusing the layers into a durable, unified piece.
Once cooled, the work will be mounted to a solid wooden base and delivered back to The Laughing Lotus for pickup the following week.
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of creativity and community in the warm, welcoming environment of The Laughing Lotus. We’ll provide comfortable seating and unlimited hot tea, iced tea, coffee, and boutique herbal teas.
Only 10 participants per class to ensure personal attention.
