About this Event
Join us for this 2 day Nationally Accredited Mental Health First Aid course. The evidence-based course teaches participants how to recognise the signs of someone becoming unwell and how to support them until help arrives.
In the two days, we look at Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, Substance Use Disorder, Suicide and PTSD and look at strategies and interventions we can use on ourselves and others to reduce the risks of suicide and increase mental wellbeing.
All participants get to keep the Manual which also includes further reading and resources.
This course is facilitated by Trys Reddick who comes with over 10 years experiece running the MHFA workshops with over 400 courses under his belt.
Trys was diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, OCD and Agoraphobia aged 12 and left school at 14 before living as a recluse for 10 years. He now runs the Mental Health workshops in the hope that his participants will one day be called upon to support someone in a crisis and the essential building blocks taught in the course will help that person navigate the sometimes uncomfortable but nessescary conversations around mental illness and suicide.
One of the most prevelant comments left by participants in the 10 years faciliating this course is "why didn't I know this before?"
Join us in this course and get the tools you need to help yourselves, your families and your work colleagues and together we can make our world fairer and safer.
