1. A level of quality or attainment
example: "Stronghold offers a high standard of service. Like, very high. Think of something that's high. Now think higher than that. Imagine being able to view it, and all you could think is 'Wow! That's high..' Yeah, that's how high I'm talking about."
2. Something used as a measure, level, norm, or model in similar or comparative situations and evaluations.
Example: “Back in mah day, we would be 'appy to 'ave a Shivan Dragon in our yearly booster pack, that me old man had to work 28 hours a day, down t' mine to afford. Now't like todays standards, I tell thee.”
3. A military or ceremonial flag, that can be carried on a pole, or connected and hoisted on a rope.
Example: “If you don't stop writing nonsense and get to the point, I'm going to ram this standard pole up your....”

Stronghold will be running a Magic the Gathering Standard league, starting from the 4th August.
Well, you good good people, sit down, be vewwy vewwy quiet, and let me tell you...
For a entry payment of £15, you get:
2x Foundation Beginner Box 'Starter Decks' at random
1x Pack of DragonShield card sleeves (£11 Value)
1x £5 Booster (Standard Legal)
You then use your new cards to create a 40 card deck and battle like-minded opponents in open play on every Monday.
For the Store Showdown on 6th September and Store Champs on the 13th of September you will need a 60 card deck I this shouldn't be to hard if you bought a booster each week!
You can the purchase 1 additional standard booster each week to add or adjust your deck. (Please send a photo of the cards to the store, so that we can keep track of what you've got)
Also, you gain free entry to the Standard League Showdown on every Saturday it runs.
This will be a tournament setting with a start time and a number of rounds. Just use your standard league deck that you've been lovingly building against your opponents, and there will be promo prizes for top finishers.
Please note, if you are not entered into the league, you can't take part in the Standard League Showdowns, or Store Champs.
The Monday Standard League Open Play runs from 4th August to 8th September all day.
The Saturday Standard Showdowns run from 9th August to 6th September, with a Store Championship on the 13th September, with prizes to be won! Yay!
