Tater Que is more than just a beloved local restaurant — it's a pillar of the Pflugerville community. Owned by Bobbie and Bobby Mack, Tater Que has served up comfort food and community love for years. But now, this Black-owned business is under attack.
The Pflugerville Police Department — specifically under the conduct of Lt. Summers — has harassed, intimidated, and targeted Bobbie and Bobby in ways that are not only discriminatory, but blatantly unjust. These acts are not isolated incidents; they are part of a pattern of racialized policing and abuse of power that must be confronted and dismantled.
This is about more than Tater Que. This is about the right of Black business owners to operate in peace. It's about holding public servants accountable when they violate public trust. It's about building a Pflugerville that stands for fairness, equity, and dignity for all of its residents — not just the privileged few.
We are calling on our entire community to show up in force at the April 22nd Pflugerville City Council meeting to stand with the Macks. Pack the chamber. Make your presence known. Demand accountability. We need to send a clear and unmistakable message:
We will not allow this injustice to go unchecked. We will not be silent.
Wear Blue. Bring Signs. Bring Your Voice.
