ACADEMY AFTER HOURS is The Laughing Academy's grown-ups-only late-night performance series, bringing the best of Chicago comedy to YOU right here in the 'burbs! Join us for a night of laughs with a rotating roster of some of the hottest local comedians in the professional stand-up scene!
Headliner, Jeanie Doogan has set herself apart with her quick observations and no-apology take on teaching, parenthood, and American culture. Her sharp wit draws on her experiences growing up on the South side of Chicago and 20 years as a public school teacher to deliver comedy that reaches audiences of all walks of life.
Jeanie has entertained audiences at colleges, casinos, and corporate events, and is a regular at venues such as Zanies Comedy Clubs, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Bar. She was highlighted in Chicago Parents’ Magazine’s Four of Chicago’s Funniest: Stand Up Parents, and was featured on Team CoCo’s House All Star Showcase, and Nick Jr.’s Moms’ Night Out debut stand up special.
With Richard Laible
Richard has performed at the top clubs including the Improvisations in NY & LA, Catch A Rising Star, The Comedy Castle and opened for Jay Leno, Harry Connick Jr., Nickelback, The Temptations, Peter Cetera, Chicago, Hank Williams III, and many more. He's also a founding member of The Annoyance Theater and an alumnus of the world famous The Second City. Richard and his family live in Winnetka, Illinois where he also likes Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain.
