National touring stand-up comedian, filmmaker, and radio personality Tom Garland will headline a one-night-only stand-up comedy event at Oster Regent Theatre on Saturday, November 15th, 2025. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show begins at 8:00 p.m.
Garland, a Cedar Rapids native, is best recognized for co-starring in the documentary film, “Headstrong” (2019), alongside WWE Hall-of-Famer Rob Van Dam.
His comedy career took him from Iowa open mics to becoming a paid regular at comedy clubs on the Las Vegas Strip, where he performed at premier venues including Bally’s, Planet Hollywood, Strat, Rio, and the MGM Grand.
Garland also toured extensively across the U.S. and Canada, appearing alongside talent from Jackass, Trailer Park Boys, and Broken Lizard, before relocating back to Iowa during the pandemic.
Known for his unique blend of stand-up, sharp improvisation, and fearless crowd interaction, Garland delivers a fast-paced and unpredictable show where no two performances are ever the same.
In recent years, Garland has expanded his creative work to film, directing the 2023 documentary “Arcade Gamer: The True Story” and releasing his debut comedy special, “Tom Garland: Selling Out” (2024), both of which were filmed in Iowa and are now streaming on Tubi.
Locally, audiences know him as a weekly guest comedian on The Rock 108 Morning Show (107.9 FM KFMW). Local audiences may also recognize him as one of the co-stars in the new Waterloo-produced sports dramedy film, "HUSKIES," out now streaming from Donzilla Inc. on Fawesome and Plex.
The Oster Regent event will feature a full 90 minutes of adult, Las Vegas comedy club style stand-up comedy, with Garland joined by two opening acts: Adam Meier and Jacob Reagan
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, available through the Oster Regent website and Box Office. This is a seated show and recommended for audiences 18+.
This special performance offers local audiences the chance to experience a comedian who has taken his humor from neighborhood stages to the bright lights of Las Vegas—and back again.
