About this Event

Stand Up a Benefit for Branden's Safe House is a Dedication to and Celebration of Branden's life on August 21, 2021 1pm-7pm at the MLK FAME Community Center.

Come in best and brightest to celebrate Branden's life with the Electronettes Hi-Steppers Drill Team and some of Washington's best Drag Queens, Kings, and Diva's, Music, Poets, and great Food and Drink.

Branden's Safe house is a non-profit organization founded after the loss of Branden McKinnon. Our mission is to combine joint efforts for child safety, resources, and protection to create an unlimited amount of resources for our children. Branden was a Bright, and Brilliant 12 year old that lost his opportunity to a promising future due to gun violence in his home on May 19, 2021. The circumstances are unclear, but what does need to be clearer is gun safety for children. We are not anti-gun, We are for gun control in the presence of minors. Part of our mission is to fight for change in regulations when it comes to children.

With this nonprofit we will join the fight for child safety and protection and stand with our youth as the struggle with mental, physical, emotional and identity issues, especially during this pandemic.

The goal is to raise awareness, support, and funding to create a $5000 Memorial Scholarship fund for at least 2 students. We hope to also provide books, tablets, supplies and more for children to help and keep them on a path of excellence.
