Standup Comedy 101 is ImprovBroadway's introductory course that is great for beginners or veteran standup comics. The class introduces the basics of standup joke writing and performanceStudents will learn how to brainstorm, write, test, and perform jokes. Standup Comedy 101 is scheduled right before ImprovBroadway's open mic night, so students can test out their material to various audiences
This class is the pre-requisite for Standup Comedy 201.

Price: $100 (Early bird pricing: $75 - ends June 21st)
Class size: 10-15
Duration: Each level is 5 weeks, once a week, for two hours a session.
Class Time: Mondays, July 12th - August 9th, 6-8 PM
Class Requirements: Students must be 18 years or older to take the ImprovBroadway courses and be willing to abide by ImprovBroadway's family-friendly content policy. To graduate each course, students must arrive on time to each session, attend each class to completion, maintain good hygiene, attend one ImprovBroadway show (students will be provided a complimentary ticket) within the duration of each course, and perform in a graduation performance at the conclusion of 201, 301, and 401.
About: Improv/Sketch/Standup 101-401 are the core curriculum classes at the ImprovBroadway Theater and School of Comedy and are necessary to become a certified stage performer. Each course after 101 requires completion of the previous course to continue to the next level. However, classes are not just for aspiring comedians and performers, so don't hesitate to take the courses even if you don't have the desire to become a performer.
