About this Event

HPC@Sheffield is the annually hosted prestigious research computing event at The University of Sheffield showcasing projects using research computing facilities regionally and nationally. HPC@Sheffield comprises a series of presentations, which will address how researchers may access and utilise our HPC facilities available for research computing.

The theme for the 2023 event is the launch of the Stanage High Performance Computer. Stanage forms the basis of a new system in which research groups enjoy the benefit of a well-supported and maintained research infrastructure. With over 11200 processing cores, 64 graphical processing units and 4PB of filestore, Stanage represents a fivefold increase in computing capacity for the TUoS. The objective of the event is to publicise what is available and to provide examples of what may be achieved using the e-Infrastructure available to the research community. The event will feature a keynote talk highlighting the value delivered by e-infrastructure there will be presentations of researcher experiences demonstrating the benefits.
