STAN
STAN are a three piece band from Meanjin who bring you refreshing honesty in their brand of slacker rock and their debut EP. Filled with witty and candid lyrics with driving rhythms to match, STAN lays their souls bare and invites listeners to find comfort in shared experiences.
BLACK DOG CAT BAND
Black Dog Cat Band melds elements of the blues, country, folk, garage and rock’n’roll with an unmistakable Australian edge. Made up of members from various Brisbane bands, this five-piece deliver catchy tunes formed around open chord progressions. They combine acoustic instruments and ethereal soundscapes with noisy effects-driven licks, boppy bass lines, tubular guitar tones and melodic hooks that will stick in your head. To describe this unique sound, they have coined the term, “Gum Leaf Rock”.
SUPER HOTEL
Super Hotel is a Meanjin/Brisbane band for your meanders, sits and stands. Much like the Japanese hotel chain to which their name has derived, this no frills group is both reputable and expanding, predominantly due to the hosts’ warm welcoming of wonderful guests. Their alt-country rock should soothe what suffers ya by its own sort of merry melancholy, like a jaunt by the river brown or an early Simpsons episode.
