Join our [master] craftsperson Matthew Mead for an intensive 1-week chair making course inspired by the innovative furniture maker Christopher Schwarz. Matthew is designing a variation on Schwartz’s beautiful staked chair exclusively for The Exchange that can be made in just one week by a complete beginner (see more on the inspiration in Schwarz’s ground breaking 'The Anarchist's Design Book')
Over an intensive 5-day period you will learn to use a variety of hand tools and machines to produce a beautifully joined chair that will last for generations.
The course will run from Monday 25 August and costs £600 per person.
