A monthly art club at Staiths Cafe! Each month you take part in a new activity from book binding to fabric printing, screen printing to carving and much more!Join Gateshead artist Ali Wilkes to design scandi-inspired fabric! In this workshop, you'll use hand-painted papers to form a beautiful collage that will then be transferred onto fabric through heat pressing, resulting in striking colours and patterns. Disperse dyes, which have been in use since the 1920s, provide a rich, durable solution for creating vivid prints. The painted papers will be heat-pressed onto fabric. By the end of the session, you'll take away multiple fabric pieces featuring your custom designs.
Tickets £5 per person. Adults only.
