About Staithe
Staithe, the atmospheric musical duo of Bridie Jackson and Nick Pierce, are set to release their highly anticipated debut album, Flowers, on Thursday, May 15, 2025. The album will be self-released and available on vinyl, CD, and all major streaming platforms.
A deeply personal and confessional body of work, Flowers showcases Staithe’s distinctive fusion of genres, drawing from classical, folk, and minimalist electronica, whilst inviting listeners into their immersive sound world—one of honesty, melancholy, hope and quiet resilience.
Entirely self-produced and recorded at their home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne during the winter of 2024, the album embodies the experimental, DIY nature of this constantly evolving musical project.
“The thing we love about the making of this album and the Staithe project in general, is the ongoing invitation it offers us for curiosity and development, which as artists, is so important to have an outlet for” says Staithe. “The process has been deeply satisfying and creative for us, and it’s acted as a constant reminder that the making of music brings its own reward, and anything after that is a bonus”
“…a strange kind of magic… conjured up from piano and guitar and Jackson’s hauntingly beautiful voice.”
The Crack Magazine
“A stark, haunting journey through a poetic blizzard, Jackson’s vocals are like cut glass, clear and fragile yet imbued with a quiet defiance.”
The Devil Has the Best Tuna
“Sparse and beautiful songs of kindness and hope.”

About Nev Clay
Nev lives near Newcastle and until 2018 was a mental health nurse. He's been clarting around the local music scene for 30 years, and once supported Keith Emerson out of ELP. In 2024, he released the critcally claimed and locally beloved album So Little Happened For So Long.
"Nev Clay could out-shred the best of them, but his intricate picking, unusual chord voicing, and gift for counter-melody always supports and never distracts from the essential excellence of the songs themselves."
