Marius Cathalifaud (Le faux chat) is a half-Scottish, half-French singer-songwriter. He takes inspiration from a wide range of influences - his album ‘ White Walls of Silence’ aims to evoke the atmosphere of the Scottish islands through sounds, texture and storytelling. Marius creates experimental indie-folk rock influenced by both Scottish and French culture, poetry and the outdoors.
‘I caught this half Scottish/half French singer-songwriter on Cerys Matthews' BBC6 Music show earlier this year. He was amazing and so l had to dig out his latest album. And what do you know? Also amazing! Especially if you love your indie-folk to be imbued with bags of atmosphere and striking imagery a la Leonard Cohen. The tone is unhurried, the melodies easy on the ear, and the effect is pure balm for your tattered soul.’ - The Crack
'Poetic and poignant.’ - Tom Robinson BBC6 Music
‘Isn’t this just beautiful’ - Cerys Matthews BBC6 Music

STAITHE is the creative partnership of Bridie Jackson (composer and singer) & Nick Pierce (classical viola and synth). The duo produce evocative, minimalist music that interweaves voice, classical guitar, viola, piano, and electronic textures. Bridie is best known as the singer and songwriter of acclaimed folk band Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, while Nick’s background is in both orchestral and contemporary music. Together, they create music that is both delicate and immersive, shaped by a shared love of storytelling through sound. Their live performances are intimate yet powerful, drawing audiences into a world of evocative melodies and atmospheric textures.

Their work often crosses disciplines, collaborating with film makers, performance artists and theatre and dance companies to create immersive soundscapes and emotive scores.
Released in May of this year their highly anticipated self released debut album garnered critical acclaim. Entirely self-produced and recorded at their home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne during the winter of 2024, ‘Flowers’ embodies the experimental, DIY nature of this constantly evolving musical project.
‘Vocals are crystal clear, very magnetic, soaring at times. You'll want to listen to this over and over again, just like I did’ - Shakk, BBC Introducing

'Their album is real stop-you-in-your- tracks stuff. It really casts a spell, gradually pulling you into its world by dint of some finely wrought melodies that are lifted by Jackson’s clear as a bell vocals’ -
The Crack
'Sonically, the album demonstrates sheer power in the softest of ways, seamlessly flitting between tenderness and intensity' - NARC. Magazine
