Workshop presented by Emilie Shipman-Wight of Feather and Fibres and Meghan Murphy of Meghan’s Glass Creations.Learn the basics of stained glass, enjoy a creative experience and leave with a whimsical little creature. Choose from a selection of pre-cut pieces to put together your own garden snail. If time allows, make a second snail to give the first a friend, or gift it and share the joy! Learn to apply copper foil, solder, and patina, then polish the piece to make it shine. You may choose to make your snail with a stand or as a planter hanger. For a taste of the full stained glass process, you will have a chance to cut and grind a piece of glass.
All materials and equipment are provided. No previous experience is required. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Participants are required to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Gloves will be provided. You may choose to bring a work apron to protect your clothing.
Food and beverages are not permitted within the workshop area for safety reasons. Water may be kept in a designated area away from soldering stations.
