About this Event
Enjoy an informal, fun and captivating morning learning a new skill and leaving at the end of the session with a beautiful stained glass butterfly you can put up in your own home. Designed to appeal to budding crafters and hobbyists, the workshop will introduce you to the five stages of the Tiffany technique process and allow you to create your own work of art in stained glass.
Elaine will support you in:
- The basics of cutting glass ie straight lines, curves and circles
- Choosing the glass from a selection offered on the day and cutting out your project
- Grinding the glass edges to a smooth finish to fit the project pattern
- Copper foiling - this is a tape that is sticky on one side and provides a framework for the solder
- Soldering and finishing
Some degree of finger strength and dexterity is required. All materials, equipment, protective wear will be provided.
What to bring:
Old clothes.
Full length apron and rubber gloves.
Kevlar gloves (optional)
Closed in Footwear
(Please note: Face Shields, Masks and Nitrile Gloves will be provided on the day)
Tea and coffee will be provided and are included in the cost of the course.
