✏️ GBCT will be hosting a staged reading of "Lead Full Circle", written by local playwright Erin Hunsader-Kelsey and directed by Kit Honkanen, on Saturday, January 17 at 4:00pm at the Robert Lee Brault Playhouse.SYNOPSIS:
Samantha is single mom who works as a social worker during the day and performs stand-up comedy at night. One day, her precocious 10-year-old son, Atticus, returns home early with a note saying the elementary school would be closed until further notice due to the discovery of lead. With little additional information available, Samantha immediately begins a search for seemingly elusive answers about the health, safety, and future of her family.
Then, following a change in her schedule to accommodate temporary homeschooling, Samantha begins working with a regular HELP line caller, Martha – a retired schoolteacher in her early 60’s who suffers from depression and hallucinations, who she feels inexplicably connected to and is determined to help conquer her demons once and for all.
A touching modern-day drama sprinkled with real-life humor, "Lead Full Circle" is a story that explores resilience in the face of adversity, the power of adaptability in times of uncertainty, and what it means to truly care for one another.
🎟️ This show is free to the public with open seating. No tickets are required for entry, and voluntary donations can be given to support the theater.
