About this Event
Synopsis: The students of Eleanor Roosevelt (Girls’) High School, Class of ’69, founded to teach young women how to achieve their dreams, is holding their 50th reunion, and the attending members of the Rosies Chorus is gathered in the music room to prepare for their big number at the party that night. Relationships are renewed and updated, and a little playful friction occurs until the big turn-of-events (!), when they must band together to save the day. Well, as dear Eleanor R. said, “If life were predictable, it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.”
In one act with 11 original songs, the talented cast of Stagebridge women students join in harmony to show us how we are a part of something bigger than the Lies we’re told, lies to ‘keep us in our places’, and also bigger than our own differences. That is the Common Bond we share with friends and loved ones, and ultimately, with the whole world.
Stagebridge’s own GrimmWyn Productions, the musical theater writing class developed this collaborative, students-teachers “writing team” piece with script supervision and direction by Joanne Grimm, and lyrics wrangling and music by Scrumbly Koldewyn.
