EVENT HOST: OTHMAN HAMDAN. "The Imprisoned Blogger"
- https://www.instagram.com/imprisonedblog
"Othman was maliciously charged by the RCMP in 2015 in one of Canada’s most unique cases examining freedom of expression. He was acquitted of all charges and now is sharing his side of the story through his book and work as an activist while trying to reach the public in this current environment of weaponizing terror-related charges against journalists and activists."
LEE REED
(Strange Famous Records / RHYMETHiNK)
"Lee Reed is Kanadian Hip Hop’s oldest and grumpiest revolutionary rap loudmouth, and a respected veteran of the nation’s indie music scene. For over 25 years he's been stomping stages and studios, spewing his fiery brand of anti-capitalist rant-hop."
Lee is also known for his role as frontman of the acclaimed, 7-piece band "Warsawpack." He is on Sage Francis's record label (Strange Famous), while rep'n his own collective of artists known as RHYMETHiNK.
KAY THE AQUANAUT
(SIDE ROAD RECORDS / RHYMETHiNK)
"Saskatoon veteran KAY THE AQUANAUT is one of Canada’s most prolific and hardworking independent HipHop artists. With a career spanning 2 decades, his catalogue is thick - with a collection of 19 releases between 1999 and present.
Intelligent, innovative and captivating, his poetry is dense and begs multiple listens; weaving the personal and the introspective, with a solid progressive politics that gets the radical left fist up."
DJ WHO
- https://www.instagram.com/ilovedjwho/
"If art is a hammer to rebuild the world, DJ WHO uses his turntables to pound a nail into empire's coffin, and invites you to dance upon it's ashes. When he isn't spinning epic underground & conscious hiphop vinyl sets, he explores eclectic genres from around the world, continually drawn to socially conscious lyrics, funky rhythms and psychedelic inspired music."
RAFFERTY FUNKSMITH
- https://soundcloud.com/rafferty-funksmith
"Rafferty Funksmith is an award-winning vinyl funk/disco/hip hop dj."
MOCHILERO
- https://soundcloud.com/mochileromusic
"Melodies and rhythms for moments of collective joy."
"Inspired by the mystery, interconnectedness, and diversity of the natural world, I strive to evoke a feeling of oneness on the dance floor by weaving together melodic, uplifting and soulful grooves. My passion for emotive music connects dancers with themselves, those around them, and the world. I play a mix of melodic, deep, progressive, minimal, and downtempo house with rays of breaks, acid, tech, & disco to create hypnotic yet diverse sonic journeys."

EVENT VISION & ETHOS OF STAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
-------------------------------------------------------------
Our event seeks to combine revolutionary politics and musical entertainment through inclusive community celebration and radical love as a means of resisting patriarchy, white supremacy, capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism.
Stage Against The Machine organizers are committed to amplifying revolutionary voices and art that supports anti-racist decolonization to build a more egalitarian community through the arts. We aim to create a safe and inclusive space for all. No bigotry, discrimination or hate will be tolerated. Consent is mandatory.
We follow in the tradition of Hiphop culture's founding innovators, such as the Zulu Nation, whose guiding ethos is rooted in "wisdom, understanding, freedom, justice, and equality, peace, unity, love, and having fun." We aim to create a space to listen, learn, share, dance, heal, and progress together.
We uplift community art as a vital political tool for the working class and all oppressed peoples to express their lived realities—realities silenced by those in power. We reject the censorship and de-politicization of the arts by colonial capitalists and establishment gatekeepers who profit off stolen Indigenous land. Denying people the space to speak on their oppression (particularly those with racialized identities, including indigenous people, and other marginalized voices such as those in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community) perpetuates harm, violence, and erasure, ceding ground to fascism. Conversely, Stage Against The Machine gives a platform to celebrate art as resistance, resilience, and resurgence—from Turtle Island to Palestine and beyond.
