About this Event
May 1st extends Sharon Hayes’ interest in the intersections between private and public, personal and political, life. These five letterpress prints together compose an address to an unnamed lover – about and around the potent pleasure and despair of political desire.
Join us on the 26th of February at 3pm for one of our Gallery Assistants talking about their favorite piece currently on display. This event will last for around 40 minutes and includes a short description of terms relevant to Sharon Hayes’ work and LGBTQIA+ History Month. This will be followed by a live performance of the written work in Gallery Two. Finally, there will be a discussion afterwards about why this piece resonates with our Gallery Assistant and their interpretation of Hayes’ work.
This is a free event and all are welcome; please note this event will include terminology and history relevant to LGBTQIA+ History Month.
